We have a combined experience of more than sixty years as performers, directors and producers in the fields of touring theatre, comedy and music.
Warren was a local newspaper reporter for five years before he began his professional work in the world of arts and entertainment. Since then he has been a producer, promoter, manager, agent, fundraiser, tour booker, venue programmer, and occasional performer and compere. Warren was the partner of the late great comedian and broadcaster Linda Smith and helped establish The Linda Smith Memorial Fund to benefit the charity Target Ovarian Cancer.
He has also produced seven 'Loving Linda' comedy galas between 2010 and 2015.
Warren's role in Lakin McCarthy is to lead on and oversee the company's extensive touring programme.

In an on stage sketch, I played much-hated Chilean dictator General Pinochet opposite Linda Smith's much vaunted portrayal of the equally hated Margaret Thatcher.
Sharron has worked in the arts in a number of guises over the years starting out as a followspot operator.
Before coming to Lakin McCarthy she worked for the Theatre Royal Bury St Edmunds covering a variety of roles from Box Office Manager, ASM to Producer for all in-house touring productions.
Since working for Lakin McCarthy she has enjoyed working with comedians and speakers and seeing the development of their shows with the highlight being the Edinburgh Festival.
Tell us a secret Sharron
Due to a last minute technical problem I had to cover for the ASM as one half of the pantomime cow in the final scene of Jack and the Beanstalk (with no rehearsal).
She's been a Community Artist, a Community Development worker, arts programmer and advocate, Arts Council apparatchik, and cultural consultant.
She joined Lakin McCarthy in 2013 to work with our wonderful roster of speakers.

I sang 'She Loves You' on stage of the Sunderland Empire aged 6 and won a goldfish from Tommy Trinder for my trouble.
Mike originally trained as an actor and worked alongside the legendary Joan Littlewood at the Theatre Royal, Stratford East. His career path has been eclectic to say the least taking acting and directing, arts and regeneration, organisational change consultancy and festival producing.
Mike's role in Lakin McCarthy is to oversee the development of new work and to act as agent and producer to key acts within our roster.

I wrote and directed the UK stage version of Planet of the Apes.
Kate trained in the arts and has worked for many years in arts event and exhibition management. She's also sold ice cream, sandwiches and ideas. She's very good at organising stuff.
Kate's role in Lakin McCarthy is to project manage work generated by the Production and Development department. This includes the company's work around the Edinburgh Fringe Festival and special events and productions.

I have over 150 pairs of shoes.
Catherine has over 25 years' experience as a Secretary/Administrator working in various sectors including the arts, education, health, environment, and property.
At Lakin McCarthy she is in charge of our abacus and Monopoly money.

Aged 40, and with dodgy knees, I raised funds for Yorkshire Cancer Research by taking part in 'Bounce for Sheffield' - a successful World Record attempt for the largest space hopper race!
