Celebrated political diarist and novelist, Chris Mullin represented Sunderland South as its MP for twenty three years up until 2010, during which time he served as a Minister in the departments of Environment, International Development and The Foreign Office.
He has written three novels including the classic political thriller, ‘A Very British Coup’, the television version of which won BAFTA and Emmy Awards and was shown in over 30 countries.
His book ‘Error of Judgement – the truth about the Birmingham bombings’, led to the corrections of one of the biggest miscarriages of justice in British legal history and was made into an acclaimed drama documentary by Granada Television.
Chris lives in Northumberland. He is Chair of Heritage Lottery Fund North East and is an accomplished public speaker.
